the build went together pretty smooth. everything lined up perfect. its a very roomy design, meaning that there are not too many tight spots or hard to get at areas.
everything is aluminum, there are no metal to plastic attachments except in two spots on the swash. i went through a lot of thread lock.
the only issues i had during the build were two parts stripped out. the shaft collar and one of the two pinions that was included. its like the aluminum/metal that was used for those parts were sub standard. i did not apply anymore pressure to those parts as i did any where else. also, my S3114 were just a few millimeters too short so i had to shim up the servo mount for the aileron and pitch.
the aluminum mounts for the skids are nice looking but it seems they were not cut and finished with the same attention to detail as a lot of the other metal parts.
the manual is actually pretty good. even though the swash, tail and most of the frame was already built, the manual diagramed their build. it also give basic radio setup for the servos for futaba and jr radios as well as recommended pitch and throttle curves for norm, idle 1 and idle 2.
i'm concerned about parts availability especially since i'm still learning. my LHS has a lot of trex parts but as i was building it, i was making mental notes about what parts may be compatible.
whats not so far, which is big to me are:
main shaft (screw holes dont line up)
belt (trex is way too short and more narrow)
flybar (trex is thinner and the TG's is much more stiff)
overall, this thing puts a smile on my face every time i look at it because it's so beautiful.
its ashamed this bird is not main stream. |

• Most bling for the buck anywhere • excellent fit, finish and descent manual • not a typical TRex clone |
• main shaft collar and pinion screw holes stripped easy • finding spare parts |
