when you go to update, after launching G3 and choosing "additional option" and update etc. , be sure to check the "refresh" button !

It may not be beta, but it is the same version as beta. Nothing has changed. The flight physics are still screwed up. Goto Knife Edge Forums and read the posts in what people think about 3.5 and how it will not change. I am NOT upgrading. If you do, all your customs planes will be screwed up and will not fly right, and the physics are all off. meaning it is NOT realistic. Also when people tried to revert back to 3.448, it got screwed up. Now they have NO sim. Goto the forums and read for yourself.

what would be the prob with re-installing the original if they do not like what they have, and then re-upgrading to what they want ?

I have already re-installed G3 and have 448 now Jim, but thanks for asking.
I personally am going to try a new install of G3 on another drive ( partition ) and see if I can get away with it - so I will ( theoretically ) have a choice......
who knows, personal preference

 thats right, many people have tried and failed. I was going to update untill I read what the common (not professional) people have said about it. Until it's fixed, if at all, I will NOT be updating, which means no addons or nothing. I guess i have wasted $200. I did not like what Knife Edge had to say about us not being important. They lost my business!

I’m not sure what all the fuss is about?? I just downloaded 3.5 and I love it :) --- No trouble at all, but then I didn’t have any custom choppers on file, so I can’t comment on that. ;) The only thing hassling me is the Hover Training!!!! That really sorts the men from the boy’s :D

I only have one swap import plane that won't fly - but I also have an import B29 that flies exactly the same - as with my import helis...........
do you find that trainer ( orientation trainging ) extremely "TOUCHY" :D - or is it just me - so far I've got to the 3rd level before "passing out" from the strain :)

I haven't got to the orientation part yet :( I'm still working on the hover LOL :)
But it is extremely touchy, is that the way it is, or is that some of the problems people are talking about???

I've played a bit with the new sim. I was reluctant to download it because I'm not a big fan of software upgrades from my time as a network engineer. I gotta say, I like it. The physics are a tad better, but still not real life, but what is besides....well....real life.
I agree, the orientation trainer is real touchy, they could have put a better heli choice on there than a competition 90. Maybe the dolphin or something in the 30/50 class. I got to level 6 and got completley frustrated with it. Those 90's are not for hovering practice. I haven't used the night flying yet, or even looked for it in the menus, but from what I've seen of real-life night flying, I'll probably like that as well.
The crashes are also much more "spectacular". I once stuck the tailboom into the ground and it continued to fly for a few seconds until she spun into the ground. I also slammed it down a bit hard while trying to slide the skids on a high-speed pass and knocked the canopy off without breaking anything else. Wish I'd had the reset disabled, it would have been interesting to fly it with no canopy!

Well Td you have made my day, if its giving you a hard time as well that make me smile :) I thought it was just me having trouble flying that sucker, :D It sure is a hand full, for me anyway, but its a work in progress and I'm actually making progress>Yes the crashes can be quite spectacular LOL :)

Well its pretty subjective, I love my G3.5 just finished up loading the new version last Sunday again after computer crash, and it all works great again. But there are a lot of different opinions out there, shop around, can you go to a hobby shop and try one, make sure your your computer can hack the pace, the software requires a large number of resource etc.
Good luck

you know, we should set up an rc heli virtual field in G3, that we can all log on to?
