That makes me so happy that I bought a nice steady plodder to learn on
Funny thing is, that looks a little like my first flight...just longer and he was in control whereas I was simply trying to hang onto it. Of course mine drilled into the ground 20 seconds into it's maiden voyage, lol

thats my buddy Nicholas Maxwell from Fort Wayne Indiana. Nicholas is a heck of a good pilot! He is not only super talented, he is very helpful and is quickly making a name for himself.

Hey,
What age group does Nicholas fall in to - and how long has he been flying ??? just curious :)
Is it possible to find out what his set up is?. Just amazing the way he flys his CP. Could be a good article! I just installed the bushless set up on my CP which helps it fly great, but not like his.
Need more info, Thanks!

Hello BigH
I just checked the spec’s on Horizon Hobby and its chalk and cheese IMHO
I’m willing to be corrected here, and I don’t have any of these heli-s. But I cant see how you would get a CP to perform like a CP-PRO the spec’s are very different right down to batteries and rotor head diameter 527mm as compared to 515mm the weight to is different Pro 298g, CP 325g plus CP runs Ni-MH and Pro runs 800Mah Li-Po.
Here is the link, check the spec,s and see what you reckon?

Maybe the bloke in the Video has all the hop-ups onboard as well??
Cheers :)
Hey blax1
Added the following to my CP: 4100kv brushless motor, 20 amp ESC, alum swash, bell mixer, 11.1v 1250mAh lipo, 3 bearings in my blade holders (no O-rings), and carbon fiber blades. Not sure about weight and all but I think thats pretty close to CP pro. Also note that I've been running my lipos with the stock 370 motors also. It works quit well.
Take care

Hello BigH
Sounds like a really cool set-up with all that go fast gear on it and that’s exactly what it should be doing, Going Fast. You certainly have put some time and money into it, maybe its in the head speed and pitch set up, you might need to change pinion size etc I don’t have spec’s on that info maybe Aaron can help by getting that info- from his mate that owns the one in the video also there are plenty of CP/CP-PRO forums around that might help.
Cheers
Well there you go!! good one phatchantz
Thanks for the info phatchantz. Sounds like I'm almost there. More time and $$ needed. Oh what a great hobby! :D
See ya

I think Nicholas is 17 now, but I can't say how long he has been flying. He was flying fixed wing pylon racers competitively before he got into helis.

Hi,
I thought I would chime in here. Thanks for all the kind words! I have had a blast with the little BCP. I love to expeirment, and this is a perfect heli to do that with. Some modifications worked better than others (proven by all the broken parts I have laying on the floor right now, after some not so good tests;). I am constantly trying to make it fly even better, so if anything else come ups I will post it here!
Thanks
Nick

Hey Nick,
Nice to see you here -
Small question - if you could change only 1 or 2 things on a Cp Pro out of the box - what would it ( they ) be - head assembly, transmitter, blades, brushless, etc ??
Maybe a re-phrase of this question - which mod that you have done has had the most
impact on your flying ??
just curious...............
thanks

The best modification was definatly the tail DD and prop.
The second thing would most likely be the HH gyro.

How much was the total amount of the heli with upgrades?
Hey Nick,
Can you send a link on exactly what tail motor and prop your using. I was reading about it on another site and it was getting a little confusing on what to use. Also have you had any trouble with the 370 brushless motor from E-Flite. I think this is the motor You said you were using. I've gone through 2 of them. I get about 6 flights out of them before they freeze up. Not sure if they were bad or if I'm doing something wrong. The first one was replaced by Horizon Hobbies and the 2nd was just sent in to see if they'll back this one up.
Thanks for any info and damn nice video,
BigH
