Thanks! Bought it as a package and its got most of what I wanted and from what I heard and read on the forums as the best way to go....GY401 gyro, Futaba S9650 for tail and ThunderPower for battery pack. So far so good on the build. Just some minor mistakes that was caught right away so it wasn't too bad :p I'll post the photos later this evening on the progress....I am sure I'll be seeking help soon as the build goes along. I am surprise at my progress so far as its my FIRST build ever.

So far so good on my first ever heli build. Having fun with the build. You are all correct......it is more enjoyable and you do learn a lot about heli when you build it yourself.

I should have the tail on tonight and then the "BIG" stuff begins....electronics install......I'll need lots of help there and the programing of the radio.

Ok, now that I have pretty much assembled the heli....I am begining to get confused with the electronics.

I have no instructions what so ever for install of ESC to the receiver. I can figure that the three plugs (red/blue/black) connects to the engine.....the other two (red/black) connects to the battery. Then the other goes to which slot in the receiver (Futaba R146iP)? :( Do I need to use this "ferrit" ring? I have a PCM Tx and Rx.

 On a seperate note.....they ought to have instructions on how to connect/wire the electronics. All that the kit comes with is the build....and the servos came in a box along with the ESC and receiver......none of those had instructions......I guess that's what this forum is for.

HELP

Here is link to Align Tiawan and the instruction manual for the ESC set-up I hope it helps you, this will be quicker than email and easier for you.

http://www.align.com.tw/html/en/c_rindexe.htm

Click on instruction manual on the L/H toggle bar scroll up the model ESC you have and click on that.

Cheers Ralph

Sean,

with a PCM system, you shouldn't NEED to run a ferrite ring. There's nothing difinitive saying wether or not the ring even does anything, but some guys swear by them with their FM systems.
You've done a goot job soldering all of the connectors together, A side note in case the motor turns backwards when you finally fire it up, you can just reverse any two of the 3 motor wires and it will reverse direction of the motor. I had to do it on my T-Rex.

As far as setup on the ESC, you'll have to refer to the manual, I don't have the Align one, I'm running a Phoenix 35. It will involve plugging it in while connected to the motor  and moving the throttle stick in specific movements to get it into setup mode. The instructions should do a good job of explaining.

The servo-lookin' wire on the ESC plugs into the throttle channel on your receiver.

Good luck.
Troy
