With winter coming on, does anyone like flying in the snow? If so,do you use anything on your skids? I'm looking for some ideas, because by the time I get this trex done it will be snowing!
I was thinking of using floats or something similar to distribute the weight evenly for taking off and landing. Not sure if that would work or not though.

I used to fly my Hirobo Shuttle in the snow (back when I actually didn't mind being out in the cold). I used the blow-up type floats. Looks cool, but doesn't fly that well.

I flew once last winter, but it was cut short when I noticed the belt got so loose that it started to slap around in the boom. That aluminum shrinks up like it just got out of the pool. I figured it wasn't worth re-adjusting the belt each time I brought it in and out of the house, so I just went with the T-Rex and used the winter to perform maintenance and a new paint job. this winter will probably be the same for the Raptor, I am curious to try out the gasser in the cold. It's got a shaft-drive tail, so It should be alright.

I'll burn about ten to fifteen gallons of fuel this winter.

Winters seem to go on forever here. It's not unheard of to get 200+ inches total accumulation of snow in a season.
I figured I could put all of that snow to use while I'm learning. Makes a great cushion and may help to minimize damage from crashing! :D

Memo to all heli pilots: It is very important to let your heli adjust to the outside temperature before operating. I usually let my heli sit outside for twenty minutes going from the warm vehicle to the cold air. :)

lets be a little careful as to how cold is to cold
if your plastic ball links freeze it won't take much
for them to crack the'll become brittle and that
will leed to disaster.
