Why do people here equate post count with something of value? Seriously, I'd like to know.

why do you think this forum should only be Buisness
Russ,
You may want to go back and re-read what I asked.
My question was "Why do people here equate post count with something of value?" In other words, why do people get congratulations for a large number of posts, like it's some kind of measure of achievement? You wouldn't go throughout your everyday life, pat people on the back, and say "Congratulations for talking so much!" ;)
You're right, forums are for enjoyment. If nothing else, it's like watching a National Geographic special. :o
Don't think for a minute, though, that making hobbies my job has in any way lessened the amount of fun that I have doing it. In fact, as far as I'm concerned, I have it all over you guys. Y'all have to pay to enjoy your hobby. I get paid. It's nice work if you can get it. :D

In the real world, corporate America, we get judged on our accomplishments. Everybody needs goals. It is why we get up in the morning.

I thought i did reply correct ,,, we are having fun with our Hobby
i really dont care about counts but if we can have fun with it Why Not :D
Ok, let's try to make sense out of this. What possible significance can we attribute to the number of posts one makes. It's certainly not a perfect indicator - some of my posts are just "lol!" But then some are lengthy. Regardless of how successful we are at creating meaningful posts, I think most try to be meaningful. Not all are meaningful, but again, the number of posts is not a perfect indicator. But it is somewhat of an indicator of degree of involvement in the forum.
I see exceptions all the time, but, generally speaking I see posts here that are friendly (for the most part!), helpful (for the most part!) and well-intentioned (for the most part!). So, I think that is what is reflected in the number of accumulated posts. The individual's degree of involvement in the forum.
Is it a major accomplishment in life? No. But accumulating 500 posts in this forum, for example, does reflect a high degree of involvement in what is (for the most part!) a helpful and friendly environment dedicated to the pursuit of a common interest, rc helis.
