30 Degrees in Wausau, Wisconsin on Sunday. I still got 6 flights in. :p
It is never too cold to fly, bought gloves with the fingers cut off and that seems to help.
Also my hyper 50 seems to be pretty happy the colder the weather gets!!

that will teach that grass a lesson :D
some flying today - about 6 C - little or no wind.....
tomorrow is supposed to be a beaut - charged and ready to go - just put on a "base loaded" antenna - so we'll see how that works :)
and if it gets rotten out - I hear that I can go to an "indoor" golf range ( LOL , like that one !! )

LOUSY weather here. Today was 15 gusting to 30 MPH and COLD!!!
Got a lot of sim time in on G3.5. Pracing backwards flight and getting pretty good at it. I'll probably have to wait until spring now. Summer and fall weather is pretty much over now. Time to tear down and do some maintenance.

Here in Washington, this time of year, it's hard to plan a flying session. You just have to play it by ear and jump at the first chance to get some airtime.
Alittle off subject here buy I have notice that I'm starting to get an overspeed issue with my Rappy 30. It's not running hot or anything it just seems to want to really kick into high gear. I have'nt adjusted the curves or my needles yet so I am assuming that it's the change in the atomosphere (colder air) thats causing the overspeed.
Any thoughts?

had the caliber 400 out last night for 1
battery everything went good hovering
and short forward flight and landings.no
excessive heat coming from esc the
replacement motor and esc from hacker
seem just fine.

Yes, the colder air will make a glow engine want to run better. No humidity taking up your combustion chamber. It's all air, baby! Once it gets cold, all of the temperature watching can pretty much go out the window as far as tuning goes, too. You just gotta watch that smoke trail.

Hi sgtmike74, this will give you a very clear explanation of why you richen up in the colder temps and lean it in the hotter temps.Click here>> Temperature (http://rchelimag.com/forum/showthread.php?t=910) Read the whole thread, its brief but to the point.
I'll say, engines are at greater risk of being damaged in colder temps due to running to lean. Engine temp is a factor, but the leaner your fuel to air ratio means less oil content entering the engine, possibly resulting in a damaged engine. Look for a good smoke trail, and your skid{exhaust side} should be wet from fuel wash. Always better running on the rich side, your engine will love you long time.

You guys hit the nail on the head with this one. I have been a R/C nitro nut for 26yrs now and have gone from Cars and Trucks to Tunnel Hull and Deep V Hydro boats to Airplanes, and now Heli and with a 2 cycle ringed or non ringed motors, mixture settings is a vary fine like to walk.
rich is a good thing. smoke is good. trust them on this one heli-fan.
If you want your motors to last.
