In case anyone ever forgets just how dangerous a rc helicopter can be, look here. This man was lucky to have escaped with his life. The fact he had wooden blades and not carbon probably played a role in his survival.

Again, the picture may not be suitable for everyone to see.

Holy crap...that is one lucky guy!

Didn't want my wife seeing that or she would never let me near another heli.

Exactly helifino, you said it exactly the way it is. She's sleeping now, so that's good for me. LoL

I didnt open it!!! :( BUT I can imagine---I've seen other photos of people who tangle with live rotor blades and come off second best, these are not toys and can inflict fatal injuries.
Play it safe!! Always treat with respect, just as you would a chainsaw!!

I just showeed my wife. She said, don't fly those things that close. :) I keep it usually 20 feet is the minimum. There have been instances where I was hovering two to three feet away from me.

There's no way that I will show my wife the photo. She'll want to to get rid of the heli before I get a chance to finish building it. I know its dangerous.....but its best that she does not see the photo.....so long as we both know it can be dangerous and that I am taking actions to be safe...that's all she needs to know....for now. Why get her all worked up

i showed mine, but probably because of all my hobbies, rc heli is actually probably the safest.

just remember, as dangerous as it is, you probably have a better chance of getting into a car wreck on the way to the field then getting hit with a rc heli

as scary as it is everyone should know that these machines are capable of horrible bodily damage, and as such we must respect these models for what they are; complicated mechanical machines that could have any number of mechnical, electrical, or pilot problems. Hence we should all pay extra attention to how close you fly to yourself and others. You can never eliminate accidents, but you can take preventitive measures to mitigate the risks.
