Well, i've been keeping this one a bit under wraps for the last couple of days. I think it was last Wednesday i recieved my new Rappy Titan in the mail.

Dad brought back the OS Hyper from Hong Kong when he went over a few weeks back. We're now waiting for the electronics gear to come now that the heli is built and up to the stage.

The goodies:
Blades: 620 mm NHP Razor Carbon Blades
Engine: OS 50 Hyper
Reciever: JR RS10DS 36mhz
Gyro: Futaba 401/9254 servo combo
Servos: Futaba S9252
Radio: JR X-3810 (dad's spare)

To come:
Quick UK tail rotor assembly
Quick UK CF tail fin and plane
possibly more!?

I see you opted not to put the carbon bottom plate on it. Any reason why?

Didn't put the carbon plate on because it didn't come with it! :(

Another fella at the club has an SE and he said that with the OShyper's bigger head, you gotta cut away at the baseplate to get it to fit. He claims it's not worth it as it doesn't benefit that much.... i would've liked to put one on anyway, for looks and that added comfort, but i'm not going to pay for one, just yet.

She will hopefully be airborne in a week or two. I've been held up with the electrics and servo setup because i'm waiting on the guy from the club to come over and help me set it up. I could probably do it myself, but with 2 grand sitting on the bench, i'd rather wait an extra week or two and know that it's set up right.

I noticed you also opted to go without the push-pull on the collective. Why?
It gives the servo a mechanical advantage. It will not have to work so hard on heavy loads.
I can't explain why, it is just that the servo doesnt have to work nearly as hard.
Your servo will be happier, bro.

I chose not to use the push-pull mechanics on the elevator. I just felt that it was a big waste of time. It doesnt add a whole bit of anything. Your elevator servo simply doesnt have the workload the collective servo has.

About the Carbon base plate.

It is true the Titan Version doesn't come with it. Only the SE (big waste of money) came with it. And yes, The Thunder Tiger base plate does need to be cut, in order to accomidate the Hyper's massive heat sink.

there is a version from (i think) CarbonExtreme, that fits the heli with a hyper nicely. No cutting is needed. You also dont need to remove the base plate to pull out the engine. It drops right out.

The base plate really does add benefits. It gives the frame added support. Importantly, it supports the frame where the engine bolts in, thus preventing the engine from shifting around in high stress maneuvers, and even rough landings.

I have base plates on both of my 50's. You won't notice the difference while flying it, but your machine, overall, will love you for it.

Good deal, BZA. I was flying a Titan earlier today with the hyper50{not mine, a friend's} Very solid flying heli. It tic-tocs very nicely.
All my helis are a push-pull servo system with 120 degrees eccpm swash mixing. I like the three servos of an eccpm system working one given input. Three servos pushing the collective/aileron/elevator, torque is not a problem.
