Not any talk about IRCHA on here at all. Anyone going besides me and JSchief?
This will be my first IRCHA. Looking forward to seeing the ElyQ ladies....now if I can just devise a plan to keep them away from me so I can get some stick time.

I'd definitely be there if Muncie was that close to me.
I will not be going to IRCHA... Its getting too close to the new babies due date.
There's always next year.
I'll take that beer next year, schluter. :)

10 hours, and I will be on my way to Ircha. I travel during the night so I miss the Chicago traffic.
I hope to catch some of the last flying of the Worlds FAI flying on Tuesday.
tdswan
08-10-2009, 08:21 PM
You could avoid Chicago all together if you took 39 down to Normal, IL. You won't lose more than 10 minutes time, either....or go down to 80 to the south side of Chicago.....The benefits of having a family into trucking. ;)

I am at Ircha. The worlds are over I think Curtis came in 4 or 5 in singles.
Nothing is set up yet at Ircha and no flying going on what so ever. Kind of a
dissappointment.

That makes 2 grand prizes. One of the Hobby shop sponsors is donating a T-rex 700 with a 10c transmitter.
Last year you had to choose what grand prize you want to win.

Last count was 954 register pilots. The guy with the vibe next to your canapy won a Vision 50.
Rock says he didn't see any of you guys at IRCHA and he was there for 3 days
He said he never saw anything like it. It looked like miles of tents.
There was sooooo much to do he didn't know where to start.
I guess it's this way to the RC Heli booth.
Rock says he stayed at the hotel with the staff from RC Heli Mag. and had a great time. He took over 100 pictures but doesn't want to steal Troy's thread. If anyone cares to see them he said he would start his own thread so let us know if there is any interest.

Sorry I missed seeing you there. I left on Sat night. With Rocks camo I couldn't see him in the crowd.
Did he play Poker with the other people on Friday night?
Rock says he's sorry he missed everyone and he'll post his pictures right here tomorrow. He did get a very special tour of the AMA museum that only someone like him could get. He asked me to take a picture of him with this dummy when he was in the old time hobby shop display.
Who but rock could be so hands on with the displays?
Rock wanted to spend most of his time watching the sale models. I wonder why?
This one looked great in flight.
There were a couple of Cobras that were perfect.
These guys really upset Rock. They kept asking him what he was looking at.

ircha was short for me....there was no place to park my bike, except for a small taxiway leading to the field. the bike seemed out of the way to me but....it was drawing a crowd around it . so they got on the P.A. system and announced that the guy on the bike had to move it, when i asked the guy with the mic where i could park that was out of the way and yet still be on asphalt ( it had rained for a couple days before the event and the ground was very soft ) he said there wasnt any place for bikes here! it wasnt so much what he said, but the way he said it, but at least someone spoke to me this year......even if it was to tell me to hit the bricks.... thanks for a great time guys.....cant wait till next year, maybe i`ll borrow the father-in-laws tractor..!!
P.S. i love it when you guys come to my HOME FIELD and tell me i`m not welcome.

Unfortunately, people with decent management skills are hard to find so you wind up with guys like that on the PA system.

You do not have a kickstand plate for added security. I know two peoples bike that fell over because the sun made the asphalt soft and the bike still fell over.

i have since invested in a kickstand plate ( very cool ) have also spoke to a few "biker" friends, we may organize a run up to ircha next year...just to be sure all interests are represented, not to mention the fun of a few hundred thundering harleys suddenly showing up looking for parking spots. let the fun begin!
