Semper Fidelis, everyone.

"Our Country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't
be any AMERICA because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our
women and breed a hardier race!"

I learned about the honor of serving your country while I was growng up. Was it a hard and fast lesson - no - it was just a continual lesson in patriotsm.

When I moved to Hawaii - my mom asked me to place flowers on the graves of two of my uncles that were buried in Punch Bowl (WWII). My dad served in Korea - he has only talked about that confict a few times with me. I was eligible for the last draft lottery of the vietnam war - I lucked out. In 1976 I enlisted in the Air Force.

I live and work on the left coast - I have three nephews in the Marines and one in the Air Force. I wear lapel pins that are either the Amercan flag, my Lifetime NRA Golden Eagle pin, or the Marine Corp flag.

The future of America lies in the hands of the patriots that have served their county...

As a member of the United States Air Force, I'd like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for our troops. Please keep all of our troops, both at home and deployed in your thoughts and prayers as we go through the holiday season.
I can't begin to explain how I feel when someone comes up to me and tells me thank you for your service to our country. I always respond with it is my pleasure. It truely is with great pleasure to serve our United States of America.
Thank you for your support.
God bless all of you and may God bless the United States of America.

PS. My wife comes home from a 4 month long Joint Humanitarian Mission with the US Navy. Yes, We are a mil to mil family.

Hey TechSgt. Thank you and your wife! Freedom is not Free! Everyday I'am grateful for those whom have picked up the guidon since I left active duty. There is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer. God Bless you and your wife and family. I used to be a Disabled American Veterans-Sr. National Service Officer: Obtaining and fighting for benifits earned by any and all service members. Please keep a detailed MED/REC history. It will make a huge difference in your later years. Thanks again. And when things aren't so fun. . . .there are millions of us veterans who stop each day and pray for all active duty men and women. What you do. . . MATTERS!

Sir Crash A Lot,

I know what you're talking about when it comes to medical records. I'm in line for some disability when I retire. I had a level five fusion in my neck and my knees make all kinds of noise when I walk up stairs.

My wife comes home Sunday. It's been a long deployment. I have a lot of respect for her taking care of everything while I'm deployed. I've been deployed 6 times in the ten years we've been married. For me, I would average 5 to 7 months out.
Thank you for everyone's thoughts and prayers.

Ted

Don't want this thread forgotten. To me, it's not about giving thanks once a year on a certain day.

Thank you for your courage, honor and sacrifices. I am not talking about just the sacrifice of life, limbs or health. The sacrifice of being so far away from the loved ones. The sacrifice of not being truely appreciated by far too many of "us" who sleep so soundly night after night with no regards to how they are "safe and sound".

Attached are some of my favorite war-time posters. I keep them in my office-cube for everyone to read.
