Is there any easy way to get rid of that?
I'm half tempted to open the thing up and see what I can take out or break.

Open up the case and put a small piece of fuel tubing over the metal tang that the stick ratchets against, this will get rid of the ratcheting :D I did the same on my Blade CX controller as well.

I opened it and flipped the metal tensioner upside down and closed it...works great.

Nice I'm going to do it right now.

I also flipped it on my first radio (6102) and my G3 controller. The radio I'm using now (8103) is heli-specific, so there's no clicks. Check the tension on it while you've got your G3 controller apart. I like mine nice and loose.

That's the way. :)

I just bent it with a screwdriver, its good and loose now.
Its much easier to hover steadily when there's no detents on the throttle.

I loosened mine up to where the detents don't index on teh wheel. I can feel them but they don't stop me from setting the throttle in between clicks.
With it backwards the stick was too loose. Not enough tactile feel, if you care to call it that.
It's perfect where it is now.

Placing fuel tube on it gives you some tension so that its not flopping around, but i did find that you need to use some light lube on the tube or it will have too much tension.

I not only flipped it upside down, but I put a piece of double sided servo tape on it. Leave the protective film on the side that comes in contact with the plastic wheel. You can then bend the metal piece to get the tension you like.

I am new to the hobby and have found it to be extremely addicting. Since I do not know anyone else who flys these tempermental contraptions, I have been reading these threads, hoping to pick up any choice bits of info to increase my skill level. Well, I will have to say that by getting rid of the click adjustments on the throttle control has helped me tremendously with the overall control of my heli (I put fuel tubing over the metal bar).
Long story short, this mod has improved my ability to control my micro inside my house at much higher elevations without being concerned with whacking the ceiling.
Thanks to everyone for this thread. Looks like I am going to be calling on you guys for future guidance.

Why do you not want the clicks? is it due to "hover" sometimes being inbetween clicks? or just a personal thing

Yes, that's pretty much why. If you buy a radio that's a heli-specific radio, it usually won't have clicks in the throttle. It is nicer flying without the clicks.....give it a try if you haven't. :)
