The silver head stopper come loose on my heli and I think the head piece is stiripped.

One, how important is the head stopper and two, if the aluminum head top is stripped how should I get this back in and tight?

Thanks for your help.

Are you referring to the collar above the top main bearing that holds the main mast down?

Also, what type of heli?

I'm thinking t-rex 450 SE and also assume it's the little cap on top of the head. The head button.

I fly the TREX 450SE and yes it is the cap on top of the head (sliver disk).

Looks like it does nothing but may protect the head if and when I ever do inverted flight and get close to the ground.

How should I reinstall it if the head portion is stripped?

Thanks,

Michael

Oh, the head button. I lost mine in a crash and never replaced it, it flies fine without. If the screw has some tightness to it, threadlock blue should be enough to hold it down. Just snug the screw lightly but tightly and let it set overnite. Goodluck.

I'm not sure what the exact purpose of the head buttons is. Looks, better balance, protection.

I see it referred in rc articles alot as a head stopper to stop the spinning head, however I doubt it's the same use on full scale helis :)
