View Full Version : River Valley Flyers Electric Meet.

It's coming up this weekend, June 7th & 8th. This is a mixed event, helis or planes. Anything without a internal combustion engine (or external) is allowed to fly provided you hold a current AMA membership (and pay the entry fee).
There will be food, raffles and events scheduled provided 5 or more pilots sign up. There should not be any problems with heli/plane mixes because the field is "L" shaped and the planes can stay on the active RW and helis will use the other flight line. There is primative camping allowed. No electric and no running water, so bring large batteries or generators.
The field is any pilot's dream. The grass is like carpet and there's no major obstructions for quite some distance. Nothing but flat marshland all around!

Here's my home-base. I brought the glow heli for the night flying. That never took place due to weather. :(

This is Don. He's a member at the club and has been flying helis since they were wittling their own blades....LITERALLY! He finally got an electric this last winter and he's lovin' it.

It wasn't without carnage. This poor BCP took a nasty little fall out there.
I ended up leaving early. The weather turned bad on Saturday, but rebounded for a few hours again on Sunday.
That's all for now.....
Off to Vegas again tomorrow! :p

I had a good time till the weather got nasty.

The club has a lot of good people there, very helpful.

Yup yup. That's me at last year'sevent. That stryker underwent a fuselage change a little while back, so it looks a bit different now. :o
