I just got the Reflex XTR sim and was wondering if there were any other models I could download for use on this sim besides the few that are available on the Reflex website? When I bought this at my LHS I was told that I could download models such as a T-Rex 450, but wasn't able to find anything on the internet last night. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :).

How do you open and use downloaded models in Reflex XTR 5.03? Thanks.

Sorry, I wish I could help you on this. I only have FMS (lol)
Maybe the people who sold you the sim could show you where to download it.
I hear XTR is pretty good in the "realistic" catagory tho.

Hey J-Heli, to use the downloaded models in reflex you have to extract the downloaded files to the aircraft folder of reflex.
Depending on where you get the models, you may have to extract or copy the models into your Reflex directory structure. You will find your Reflex directory at (local hard disk):\program files\reflex or in the location you installed your reflex. What you will see may look like
In most cases, the models come in a directory. Please extract the complete directory to either HELI (for helicopter models) or FLUGZEUG (for fixed wing aircraft). If you face a message that a MOD file is unavailable, the files are stored differently from what the have been before. In that case please click to OK and you will be guided to the MODEL PARAMETER window.
Select what you need in the MODELL APPEARANCE window and press OK. Safe the model and that error is fixed.

ask and ye shall recieve... reflex has more stuff to download than you can shake a stick at!
go to this link for alll sim downloads (except phoenix)
www.rc-sim.de/dl_engine_eng/index.php?subcat=1&PHPSESSID=4c72f8465db86f5c2fb4215d8ca7746b&PHPSESSID=4c72f8465db86f5c2fb4215d8ca7746b
and if you've gone thru all that and you're still hungry
www.aeromodelisme.org/simulateurs/reflex_xtr/avions-fiche-1.html
that link is only for the bold
and if you look in the forums, there is also a guy on ebay selling a $15 pack of downloadable trex 450's 500's and 600's. pay this man... i bought them... they are all great and the guy updates you with new designs for free!
dont believe the hype, phoenix feels like it tracks on rails... reflex feels real!

Head on over to T-Rex Tuning (www.trextuning.com), you can download (FREE) one of several versions of the T-Rex that was created for the ReFlex XTR sim. Once downloaded, find where it is to open the file from the sim and ENJOY!!

Thanks for your help guys! I was able to get everything up and running last night (besides my downloaded models  ) and Reflex is extremely realistic, although the crashes aren't as real as say RealFlight, but everything else is just as good. I should be able to get my downloaded models working with your guys help. Does anyone have any experience with the T-Rex 450 se v2 from www.rc-sim.de? I'll keep you posted.

I have disappearing sim models! I'll use them, switch to a different model, and then quit the sim for a while. I'll come back, say, thrity minutes later, and I try to select that model, but it says it's not available, so I go into the midel parameters, and try to find the appearance of the model, and it's not there? The actual model is still in the folder where I saved it to when I installed the sim, it's just the model appearance that's missing. This has happened to a couple of planes and heli. I've got no idea what the problem is? Thanks again.

I have another problem . When I download the file, transfer it to the Reflex "HELI" folder, there isn't a option for me extract the file or unzip it. More and more of my model appearances keep disappearing, including my T-Rex 450 XL, which is the one I desperately need because that's the one heli I have that's also on the sim. I'm out of answers. Thanks.

you asked about the zip files in your last post... are you just dragging the zips into the heli folder?
i download a zip(say trex 450 xl), i unzip it to the desktop, i cut and paste new folder into the master heli folder... and as long as the file isnt corrupt... should be no problem... but
if you change a model appearance with F5, and like the look and performance of the new model... you must now save that new model to be able to see it rendered in the heli menu, otherwise, it will only be in the folder in name only and will not have preview image... so if you really like that 450 cdl xe (i do) then reload it and dont mess with it... if that helps

Yes I was dragging the zips in the heli folder, but now I'm saving them to the desktop and trying to unzip them, but when I right click on the zip file, there is no option to extract or unzip the files. Basically what I'm asking is how to unzip files cuz I can take it from there? Thanks again.
