View Full Version : Vibe 90 and 120 or 140?
So, it turns out I have the option to use 120 degree or 140 degree swash mix on this Vibe 90, and I have both options in my Tx. Any thoughts on whiich is the better way to go?
Also, in the T-arm Lever Assembly there is the option of putting the ball joint in the 'standard range' or 'wide range' position. Anyone have an idea which should be used? The manual points in the direction of using the standard range, but for what reason does it have the wide range position?
140° Versus 120° CCPM
There are a small number of helis out there that are offered in a 140° CCPM version. The huge advantage a 140° system has over a 120° is that the geometry is more evened out between the two side servos and the front servo. This gives a more equal cyclic rate all the way around, where on a 120° setup the left/right cyclic is slightly faster than the fore/aft. The drawback is that there are still only a handful of radios with 140° mixing available (though a radio with a 120° program can be made to work with a 140° setup with some simple mixing). Also, only a handful of kits with 140° CCPM are currently available. this is from the learn how to section see I pay attention sometimes
Yeah, but what I'm really lookin for is Vibe 90 specific info. 140 may be technically better from a design point of view, but someone who is "Vibe Wise" might say something different.

I don't own a Vibe but I asked JR pilot Scott Gray last year at the heli-jamboree what he prefers, the 120 or the 140? His answer was he flies the 120. I do believe his reason was something to do with the elevator response.
Ots, try both set-ups to see what you like. That's the only way, is to find out for yourself. :)

Yeah, I have a friend who has a Vibe 90 and he flies 140 and is very satisfied. I would just try both at some time or another and decide which one works best for you.
Thanks for the responses. I'll start with 120 and see how it goes. With my level of flying it probably doesn't really matter all that much. But someday I might get better!
