ok, so i decided that i want to get a trex 450 since the 600 is wayyy out of my range.
anywho, i understand that there are the "se", "x", and "xl" versions and that the diffrence between the x and xl are boom length and parts. besdies bling, whats the diffrence between the se and xl.

also, what is the difrrence between the cde and hde versions?

and lastly, has anone used this company before? they seem to have really low prices compared to other places. maybe to low

The 450X is a second generation of T-Rex. The 450XL (3rd generation) has a longer tail boom (thus accomodating longer blades), and a couple of other desigh changes I can't think of right now. It comes in 3 varieties. The HDE, CDE, and SE.
First off, the HDE is a mechanical mix version of the heli. It uses a pitch arm much like the Raptor for the collective, a single servo for aileron and a single servo for elevator functions.
The CDE is the CCPM version. If you're not familiar with CCPM, it uses 3 servos to move the swash and you need a radio capable of mixing the servos together to make this work. Most 6-channel radios nowadays have the CCPM feature.
The SE is the cream of the crop of the T-Rex herd. It is a CCPM heli with every carbon and metal upgrade available included in the kit. Just my 2 cents worth but unless you're independantly wealthy, don't choose this heli to learn on. I wouldn't even recommend it for the sport flyer. The CDE and HDE versions fly great and won't bread the bank if you stuff it into terra firma.

As for the web-store, I haven't dealt with them before.

Good luck,
Troy

Yea some guy at our only decent hobby store up here tried to talk me into an SE over the standard XL CDE for about ten minutes.

I even got to dig in the box and look at the pieces. The SE is real snazzy I guess, the CNC head and the cf frame and everything are amazing, but I thought paying 400 bucks for that tiny little thing is just crazy unless you're hardcore about 400s. Especially since I'm at the bottom of the learning curve. Nothing on that thing was cheap. That's cool if you don't crash.

I have the money to afford the SE. But I figured I wisened up when I decided to get a 50 Nitro.

Check HeliLobby, they have some killer package TRex deals that'll get you going for around 500-600 bucks.

I was stationed in Madison, WI for most of my stint. There's an infantry unit down there. I was an 0351 SMAW gunner. 83mm Rocket launcher with a 9mm spotting rifle on it. You wouldn't believe what one of those buggers will do to a bunker!!! It basically disappears when you hit it. I also worked with demolitions like Bangladores, TNT and C4. It's a wonder I don't work for the Post Office now! LOL I think I'd fit in there!

well, while i was reading the Horizon Hobby catalog, they had advertised a new t-rex.
its called the T-REX450SA. its 95% arf, and has many features found on the se, but not all. its price is 199.99 and only from horizon or local habby shop.

Could anyone here help in regards to setting up a CCPM?

I have a JRxp6102 and in the CCPM section is ALi, Elev, and Gear or pitch.

I understand that ali and elev must be the same percentage due to one goes clock wise and the other does not {facing the front of the servo I assumne} (i.e...Ali 60% and Elev -60%) two different ways they throw, correct?

But what about the last item Gear or pitch (I forget) is around 70 or -70%. I don't understand.

Pitch curve is also hard for me too.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Michael
