I know there's a lot of people on the board saying how much the fiber blades suck n'at, but from what I understand the fiber blades are meant for beginners who don't want to tip the heli and break the blades. Should I just skip that part and start using the wooden blades, or go to the hobby store and spend the money for the carbon?

The wooden blades are much cheaper, I can't imagine why someone would recomment carbon blades for a beginner on a 400 size heli. The carbon blades on a heli that small are typically a little heavier and tend to tame down the response of the heli. Wooden blades are lighter and will tend not to be as destructive to the rest of the bird should it go down.
It all really depends on how much you crash and how deep your pockets are.

I think he's talking about the Align fiber blades, aka the plastic blades.

They flex alot more then the wooden ones so are alot more prone to striking the boom in rough landings etc.

Ahh yes, the fiber ones.....I forgot about those, yes, they're super flexible and look like a soup bown when you're hovering. Go with the woodies.

i have all the align blades in 325s. i flew trex into the bushes and cinderblock twice. bent 2 main shafts and 2 feather shafts. the fibre blades were fine. the wood blades defintly fly better.
