I just ordered my first scale heli body for my Trex e600 (the Ecureuil from Thunder Tiger). I want to add navigation lights to it. Can someone tell me a good place to buy them, good way to power them, were to locate them, and anything else that might be useful to a first timer. Do helis typically have the red beacon light like planes?
Thanks in advance.

(the Ecureuil)
It has flashing beckon on top of tail in red, red/green nav lights on horizontal stab along with white strobe that sits slightly behind the nav lights each side. Then landing light single or double depending on version of Ecureuil, More than likely if it twin star they have the double landing light as opposed to the single light in the nose. There number of lighting systems out there, If you can solder there are cheap kis you can buy that fully computer programable

Try this place, this is where I got mine.

He can do pretty much any configuration you need, even if it's not listed. I would strongly recomend that you contact him by email for a price quote. There's a good possibility you'll get a better price than what's listed on the site(hint..hint..wink..wink).
Sorry, I can't answer your other questions.
Update: Looks like he's changed a few things. Now they are available through Tower Hobbies. But, if they are out of stock, you can buy direct. It wouldn't hurt to still email them.

Thanks everyone. I am hoping my kit comes in tomorrow.
Helifino - The myxlights site listed a 5 harness that sounded perfect ( I want the flashing red and flashing white besides the two steady red & green) but what is the costant amber light for? I have never heard or seen an amber light.
Rappy1 - You mean all the lights go on the back quarter of the heli? Thanks for the info.

Yeah on the squirel all lights are on the tail end with the exception of landing light. I also forgot to mention on the tip of the tail boom the have a constant plain light for navigation aid. That maybe what they refer to as the constant amber light. i will see if i have some photos of the lights on a squirel but i can always get photos of them if i not have them on hand

heirmeistr, don't forget to order the 7 link harness with your lights.
I got the 3 light setup and he threw in the harness for free plus free shipping. On top of that he only charged me for the price of 1 light. Heck of a deal! I don't know if he would do that anymore, but, it doesn't hurt to ask!!
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Helifino,
Well, I was very disappointed working with myxlights directly. Within a day of my first email they said they would get back to me but never did. I finally ordered one of their lights sets from Tower Hobbies to give them a try. Not exactly what I wanted but what else can I do?? Glad they gave you better service.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. Now I feel bad for recommending them in the first place. Guess he got to big too fast.
Have you checked out this site yet? ScaleRCHelis.com (http://www.scalerchelis.com/phpBB2/index.php?sid=7ebac0db3f16a6803cd6f69f8ffc1854)
You have to really do some digging around on their site to find what your looking for. They might even be able to recommend some other sites for lighting that they use.
Good luck and keep us updated. Again, sorry for the bad advise. :(
