Alright I went out and bought an e-flite blade cx2 without ever touching a flight sim. I went home and tried to fly it and failed miserably, went back and asked for some help with flying it and the hobby shop tech said that he suggested that I buy a flight sim. Go figure. After I spend all the cash on the heli. Well now my question is what is the best flight sim for the money? And secondly, is there a sim that I can use my transmitter that I have right now?

RealFlight and Phoenix are the most popular around here.
RealFlight: http://www.realflight.com/
Phoenix: http://www.phoenix-sim.com/
RealFlight comes with it's own fake 'TX' (transmitter), and Phoenix requires your own TX.
I am not sure if Phoenix supports the CX2 TX, though. One of the Phoenix fanboys could probably answer that .
I use RealFlight G3.5. You can use your own TX with RealFlight too, but again I don't know if the CX2 TX is supported.
Both sims have a downloadable CX2 model. ;)
If you have a dual analog gamepad/joystick for your PC, you can also try FMS for free. The physics are not great, but it is *free*.

Well I searched the Phoenix website and didn't find a list of transmitters that it supported. I might just have to email them to see if my transmitter is supported. If anyone knows about this sim I am currently using E-Flite LP5DSM transmitter.

I just checked my Phoenix sim and it DOES support the E-Flite CX2 radio. See attached... :D

Does it say which TX adapter you need to use?

No, it doesn't say what adapter is required...It all depends on what type of connector is on the back of the E-Flite radio. It may take a call to Phoenix tech support...
Or e-mail tech support I have dealt with them alot a great bunch of people fast help to. They get back to you by the next day :)

bboy is right on the money - Phoenix tech support responds quickly (by next day) to email questions. I bought their sim because it got high ratings here in the forum for realistic flight feel, and I could use my TX (they offer adapters for different radios). New models & fields are a free download....
I did my homework - Phoenix came out as a best deal (even though the $USD to $Euro sucks). My advice is to download all of the Demo's and fly them, pick the one you like best - do you want to use your radio, or a fake radio? Are all of the controls in the same position?....

Did some research today and this is what I found. Is this the cable that I need to use my transmitter with the flight simulators?
