Greetings all,

I have been considering building up a larger nitro bird as the winds around here, while manegable somewhat by my electrics, would be better tamed by a heavier bird.

I think I'm going to go with the Century Hawk as I like the shaft drive tail (not to mention the price)

Through my channels I can also get the Kyosho birds and JR birds. However the JR birds are kind of spendy and my past experiences with Kyosho as a brand makes me worry about long term parts availability... Not to mention dual belt drives, however that radio compartment... mmm

I'm pretty set right now on the hawk, planning on 3 options for it at the outset, the anti rotation bracket, the driven tail auto kit, and the header tank. Other then that just radio gear to go with my optic a 401, and an os .37 engine.

Any opinions?

Chris

I don't know anything about the century. I fly a Caliber30 and Caliber50. I think the Caliber helis will be around for a longtime.

I recently purchased my first heli which is a Hawk and am just learning. One thing you'll want to do unless you're extremly experienced is to go to the Century web site and print out the manual for the Hawk Sport which is the model prior to the Pro. The manual for the Pro left out alot of information for a beginner, as myself, out. The sport manual goes much more indepth. It seems that the Pro is an ARF where as I think the Sport was one that you needed to assemble every thing. The one difference between the Pro and the Sport is the location of the t/r servo. Hope this helps.
