What effects do blade lengths have on flight characteristics on a heli or does it really matter all that much?

On 400 size helis, for the average guy not a whole lot. Larger blades will tend to feel more "locked in" and more stable. They will also generate more lift.
A side note, Align measures the full length of their blades, so 325 aligns are acually 320 or 315 when measured from the bolt hole like other blade manufacturers do.

I had been flying 315's on my Trex and had an unfortunate glitch to cause a smackdown. I bought 325's from a local hobby shop and flew them about 4 or 5 flites. I switched back to 315's. I noticed the power seemed better with a shorter blade. I had trouble doing funnels with the 325's.

Thanks guys. I was looking at getting another set of blades(I'm not impressed with the stock blades)and I was leaning towards the 315's but wasn't quite sure on what effect it would have.

Let me know how you made out with the 315's.

Helichoy,
How did you get a number to Align.
Would you mind passing that on due to they are quite slow with there e-mails?
Thanks,
Michael
