Just wondering how many of you use your "real" transmitter or a spare for use on the sim.

I've setup my actual controller to work with RF G3.5 but I hardly ever use it. I find the Interlink controller good enough for sim practice so no need for extra wear and tear on my 9CHPs.

For the G3.5 I use the controller that came with it and for the Phoenix I use my spare DX7. :D

I plan to use my old JR 652 for sim and save my gimbles on the JR 9303 for Flying :D

What I don't understand is, why is everyone so concerned about gimbals wearing out. Are gimbals really that prone to wear out?!

Setup my 6102 when I first got G3.5 but too many cables and not that much difference, just removed the click stop from the throttle/pitch side on the interlink and I use that.

I've read that its good to use your TX and keep the gimbals exercised. I don't think they're prone to wear out so quickly as everyone thinks they will.

I use my 1st TX that has never seen a real flite because its an old dinosaur of a TX. Its a Futaba 6H Skysport it has the analog dials you use a small screwdriver to adjust your curves and such.
I was using my 9chp for quite some time. Let a friend fly on the sim, left the room and came back and my 9chp was not working with the sim any more. I think he yanked on the cord and F%@k something up in the trainer cord plug-in.

Issue #20 dont waste time practice with a purpose all I keep hearing about sims is to try to make it like the real thing when practicing. You download the same type of heli you fly. You try to set it up the same way to make it fly the same then your going to use a controller that is totaly different then from what your going to use when you really fly and I did some searches around the web and cant find any about some guys tx wearing out from over use

I completely agree!! Not to mention, I'm the kind of freak that would notice/care about switching from one radio to another as going from sim to real flight. I want and will use my real radio for sim practice (that is when I get a sim  )

I bought the Phoenix Flight Sim so I could use my TX set up to fly the same way I have it set for my heli (I only have one.... for now). My expectation is that I shoud get 1000's of hours of TX usage before I have to start replacing gimbals.
