Back again with the Annual event at Central Carolina Radio Control Modelers (CCRCM) near Greensboro NC. The second Annual will be held on 7 June 2008.
CCRCM has a runway and a separate helicopter area. We will have exclusive use of both areas for this event.
I am planning to have contests. Some contests allow even beginner pilots to compete. The contests we had last year were, precision landing, ball push, drag race and the ever popular autorotation.
The ball push was not doable last year due to the wind pushing the ball. If possible will attempt again this year.
The drag race did not get the enthusiasm by the pilots as I hoped but will attempt again this year. This event may help get spectators interested in our hobby.
Precision Landing had almost every pilot attempt and the winner was actually a new pilot.
Autorotation is always a fun contest.
Food and drink will be available, contests for all experience levels, door prizes and a raffle.
All sizes welcome
Sorry, no overnight camping on the grounds. Campgrounds are with in a 10-15 minute drive.
Club web site is www.ccrcm.com directions to the field can be found there. Please note: There is a new reservoir near the field that does not show on most maps. Last year several people coming from the east came to dead end roads. The best way to the field is from I-85 exit 111.
