I have a CC 35P that was recommended to me by a local heli pilot. Do I need a BEC? 'Cause I was looking at my battery leads and leads to the ESC and there's 3 in the ESC but only 2 in the motor. Am I missing something somewhere?

The Black and Red leads go to the battery, the Red and White leads go to the motor (preferably through a fuse). Naturally the remaining leads go to the receiver. This unit has BEC built into it.

Are you sure your motor is a brushless motor?
Can you tell us what motor you have?

I had the wrong ESC. It was meant for a non-brushless motor.

If you're building a Trex, you can't go wrong with the Align 430 brushless and 35 amp esc. combo. Takes about a 1/2 an hour to install, and that's soldering the leads too. Costs about 90-100 dollars.
