Do you remeber your first rolls or flips? I did my first rolls and a flip today after flying for about 6 1/2 weeks (never flown anything before). I started on Dec. 1st.
Last Sunday my flight teacher and I set up my radio so I could use my idle-up switch, but I just couldn't gather the nerve. Today, however was different. I flew about half a tank just waiting for my balls to get big enough, and then I hit aileron right and managed my collective correctly. The heli flew through the roll perfectly, just like I'd done on the sim about a thousand times. The back flip was even easier. I was so excited, I think my feet came of the ground !! On the way back to the office I was doing deep some breathing to help calm myself backdown.
I thought I was hooked on this heli flying stuff, but now that I can roll her and flip her...I don't think I'll ever be able to get out of this hobby.
I hope you all felt the same thing I did when you achieved your "firsts" in flying helicopters.
