Very mature and sensible(if not expensive on Futaba's part) to sort this out. Thumbs up for being so upfront

10/4 I agree with that... :)
Shame they havent listed a serial number range of the effected components, that might save people a bit of stress.

At my local indoor fly they have implemented precautionary measures to help avoid any accidents.
1) Must sign a wavier
2) Must check with others running a FASST system
3) Must impound radio
I have no problem with these procedures and I agree that all of these are necessary precautions to avoid any accidents and possible injurys, but what I want to know is when I get my module checked and it passes or I get a new module what do I get from Futaba to not have to go through these steps.
Does anyone know the answer to this quesiton?
I have e-mailed Futaba support and Hobbico support to see what there answer will be. When/If I get an answer I will post it in this thread.
This is very fustrating to me besides shelling out $400 so far between the module and receivers I am back to a process which I went went to FASST and Spektrum to avoid.

With a potential for interference, it's prudent to react as they have. However, when your TX is verified to be OK and it indeed contains a unique ID - then there is no reason that it should be treated any different than all the others.
For yours and everyone elses safety, you should get that verified as soon as possible.

cbflys,
I absolutely agree with you. That is why when I was advised of the situation I did not even take the transmitter out of the box and it has not been out since. :(
I also agree that once it is verified it should not be treated any differently then any other spread spectrum radio. :)
Just so no one things I am down on Futaba, I realize this is a new and it will take Futaba time to determine all the action necessary to properly handle this situation. I am applauding them for stepping up to the plate and admitting they have a problem. (All to often any more problems are masked and pawned off as something else)
My only question I have is(which I do not know of an answer or if there even is on yet due to the short time duration since the advisory)--How will we be able to convey and determine if others have had there transmitter verified?
Back to a pin for now. :(

I think you'll need to ask Futaba that question.
However, if they do it right - the affected transmitters will be re-programmed with brand new IDs that are different from the problematic ones. So you'll be sure that your ID is unique.

I have the same question into Futaba and Hobbico the dealer I received the FASST system from.
I will post the answer when I get one.

ALL,
Just heard back from Futaba. They said when they check out your TX there will be an invoice sent with it verifying it is ok to use. So you must carry this invoice to show your module is ok and will not cause interference with anyone else.

I hope they come up with a stamp or sticker or something like that so you do not need to carry a invoice. I think I will wait a couple months before I get mine.
Side question for you guys with the 7 CH version. How many shoulder switches are there on the right side. All of the pics I have seen it has 1, but in RCHeli shows it with 2. I have a prob. getting to the THold if another switch is behind it is why I am asking.

Did not know if anyone saw but Futaba put out an updated statement on the 30th of Jan. They put out serial numbers of specific units.
:( Mine is a bad lot so it is going back to Futaba. (I do not have a LHS that is in the list of approved test station)
