Hi Guy's
just wondering if anyone has done this one yet!
I have just completed My century longranger fuse, but when I put the mechanics in, the muffler seems to be very close to the body. Is it likely to burn the fuse or the paint?
It is painted with auto paint and the clear is fire proof exaust paint capable of withstanding
1200 deg . maybe there is another muffler I can use!
It may take a while for my next reply there is quite a time difference between us.

Woah! Just by the plants in the BG I can tell there's a time difference from where I am! Nice looking fuse. I don't have any experience with scalers, but I know Century offers a scale muffler, I don't know if it will help but it's something to look into.
That sure is a pretty paint job on there. Very nice.

Thanks tdswan,
I'll look into century's muffler.and yes there were many many hours of hard work that went into that fuse, and the best bit was, my wonderful wife Michelle does'nt seem to mind how much I spend on it, and she also suggested I buy a bigger one!!

What mechanics are you using?
That thing is SWEET. I might have to get one now. I love the JetRangers.

I bought mine at a Home Depot. Depends where you are im guessing try your local hardware store. Or a place where they sell heaters.

No worries, I'll check out the local heater store or perhaps heat proof exhaust insulation
Cheers! Glen

Hi crazy ant.
I was looking your LG and itīs beautiful.
Past years I made project like that (with a Long Ranger Century fuselage for 50 size helis) but I transformed it into a Bell 407 because the full scale heli that guided my project was a Bell 407 from local police here in Venezuela (Caracas).
I put a Hirobo Sceadu 50 inside it, and I had same problem like you with my stock muffler. It was very close from the panel unions (place where front fuselage meets with rear one). I took my dremel and reduced a little bit this union to make a room for muffler; any way it was close to fuselage. I took a little piece of fiber glass-alloy paper (same that use in air cond. as isolator) and put it between fuse and muffler, without good results. After each flight fiber glass turn very hot and fuselage too. I removed it and actually Iīm flying without it.
Itīs true, that part of fuselage turn a little bit hot, but my paint (Dupont Chroma-base and clearcoat) resist it very well.
I thing to put in the future a Century Scale muffler. I thing itīs much better, give us more room to work, and of course, sound level becomes lower and thatīs nice for scale RC.
Hope this can help you.
Best regards
Helifino

You did an excellent job on that! If I didn't know better I would think that was the real thing. :)

G'day venez surviver
Thanks for the info, it helps to hear from someone who has gone through the same thing with the same project.
I am looking into Century's scale muffler this week. (not that I'm disregarding anyone's information at this stage)
And I mut say, your 407 has some very nice detail, well done!!
I may not put as much detail in mine, because this is my very first flying model of any kind. I may well turn it into 1000 little helicopters on my first landing!! It probably was'nt the smartest way to start out, but I like the building prosses. thanks for your input .
have a great day, cheers.

Hey Helifino,
Thankyou for your compliment. wait till you see my next one!! This one was my very first.
The paint scheem on this one was inspired by three different heli's. The aim was to get something simple, efective, and realistic, so your comment went down very well thankyou once again
Cheers, Glen
