Each sim is good as a tool to help with your flying you will get every one defending the one they own as for the best "FMS" its free. ;) What you have to consider is what your computer is capable of and how well the sim operates with your system you can have the greatest sim in the world but if your pc cant run it its wearthless get the demos and the one that runs good and feels good is the one for you I own Phoenix and I think its awsome for me ":D"

Each sim has it's pros and cons I don't think that there is one that is the best overall for everyone it all comes down to what sim fits each persons wants and needs.

I have both the Phoenix and G3.5 but I use the G3.5 more because it's on my laptop and I have easier access to it where the Phoenix is on the PC and everyone that's home is on that computer.

My vote is based soley on the fact that I started with FMS, then tried G3.5 and FSOne. G3.5 seemed so much better then FSOne, and FMS was horrible in heli physics. I don't have the capability to run Phoenix on my laptop, I can barely operate G3.5, but it looks damn good on the vids I have seen. Especially the ripple effects. Maybe one day I will have the cpu to work on again, but all my current money is going into my Knight :D

Phoenix is less of a resource hog that G3 is.
If you can barely run 3.5, Phoenix should run smooth.

 I personally like ClearView http://rcflightsim.com/. It's not very expensive, is updated frequently, and does a great job. I have used it for almost two years and like it very much.

You're going to LOVE Phoenix!!
Here's a quote on a upcoming feature with Phoenix -- Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions.

We are intending to create a swap site for variants, recordings and eventually new paint schemes.

Reagrding the repainting the models, we are currently working very hard on a painting tool whch will allow you to repaint any Phoenix model in full 3D - more information on this will be on our website in the near future.

Best Regards

PhoenixRC Support

(Sorry for posting another forum on here... but here's a good link to a guy over on Helifreak that has designed a way to get around the Phoenix bmps and you can edit your own color schemes until the 3d painting setup is released.http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=54043

There are a couple more topics over there as well concerning new sounds and wind effects.

I voted G3, but now that I have Phoenix, :D :D :D I think I am already a better pilot!! I did notice a difference when flying G3 and then my heli's. Now, everything feels much smoother, and the difference in control and reaction is more realistic. It could just be the difference between DX7 and the InterLink controller? But it runs better at higher settings!!! No lag

There really is. Like I said, it could be the DX7 is just plain better then the InterLink controller as well. I do have the controller set up with a smooth throttle. I have not flown G3 with another controller. But I think there is a major difference in physics. The Mini Titan in the new RF Expansion flys terrible compared to the MT in Phoenix. I don't know, but I like it!

Order directly from Phoenix.

They'll charge you $10 for shipping from the UK, and they'll have it to you in about 3 days.
There isnt a current N. American distributor*, so Phoenix asks that you purchase directly from them

*the US distributor is technically tower hobbies, but since tower chooses not to promote Phoenix but rather their very own RealFlight

One thing I noticed about the new controller bundled with the G4 is that the 'Throttle Hold' switch is not in a desireable spot. It's minor I know, but one of the major reasons for using a sim is to develop habitual reactions.

I bought phoenix last weekend, I enjoy it more than reflex and it much cheaper. I look forward to trying out the multiplayer at some stage. Its very life like and i love the crashes on there. The aircraft graphics are probably not as good as reflex but they good enough, I run it on a cheap laptop and it works fine. came with jr plug which fits my dx7 well. i no addicted to it. i like all the different places for flying and the interaction between aircraft and water. I would recomend phoenix as the best value sim.
