Well it will not be a turbine, but I am going to take one of my Panteras and try to get a OS91 Ducted Fan running in it. Its power band is about 22,000. I just need to get the gear ratio down to 11:1 or so.

Yeah but isn't a ducted fan turbine's purpose to produce thrust from electrical means?? I think the turbines (fuel powered) in helis are rigged to convert the burning fuel into mechanical energy, not so much as thrust. As for fixed wing, I think the turbine's sole purpose is to produce thrust, to push the aircraft forward.

Well what I am trying to do is use standard set up, and gear it down enough so I can run the motor at 22000 to 24000 RPMs and have a head speed of 2000 or so. The torque should be through the roof.

If I get any place with this I will put up some pics, and vids. I have had this motor laying around for 5 years and never done anything with it, other than break it in when it was new. It has a rear exhaust and rear intake so it should be interesting. (Yes I haft to be different. :p )

Well, I'm working on my Nats Entry .. A Len Mount Huey converted to the XH-40 (Huey Prototype) It will have the look of all aluminum when finished. I HOPE!! :o Power is from the realiable Jakadofsky Turbine. Only the best will do :D
