It's a funkey fuselage. I'm going to stretch my 30 with a boom and belt for a 50 and switch out the 32 for a 37. I haven't decided on a paint scheme yet. Going back and forth from military to the magnum pi look. I'm open to suggestions...

There are a ton of police departments that use it.

you could always be a bit different and convert it to a littlebird by cutting the landing skids down adding benches either side for a couple of army rangers to sit on an then mount a fast rope system above each ranger , then you will have an original unique heli ,i did it with a tt 530 md ,

Be unique look for a cool sceam that you like on any heli and you could make it work on the 500 good choice for a scale to no matter what you pick good luck and lots of pics please :D

Two of my favorite helis - the Bell 47G and the H500.

There are two of these Bells in my area, one is the yellow and the other is the military green version:

http://www.centuryheli.com/products/helikits/cn1074Bell47G/index.html?currentid=101

There is also one of these Breitling H500's using the Raven 50 mechanics.

http://www.centuryheli.com/products/fuselages/funkey/CN4042E/index_yellow.html?currentid=403

They look great in the air. The fellow with the yellow B47G does some really kewl slide on 180 degree autos. The opening & closing doors are also a nice touch. :)

It is amazing how mauch scale details are molded into these helis, and their 50 size really give them a lot of presence.

Nice looking heli, I can't wait to do one someday. This site has an almost endless supply of pics which might make the job of picking a paint scheme harder. While it is oriented to airplanes there are lots of Helis as well. One of my favorite sites.

Helifino, whats the latest on the Hughes 500 D. Thats one of my favorite helis'. I wonder if that body would work on a T-Rex 600. Thats going to be my next helicopter. I've always wanted to build a scale, maybe I could combine the two projects?

I'm waiting for a book, Building Scale Helicopters, that I had ordered Jan. 1st. to arrive. I have everything that I need to do it except for some guidance. I didn't find scalerchelis.com all that helpful to me, although it is a great site.
Mine is the unpainted version, so I have my work cut out for me as I have never done anything like this before. I would sure hate to screw it up. I have been giving it a lot of thought lately as to doing a very detailed build thread.
I would say that it would work with a Trex 600 with little to no modification. What were you thinking of doing, nitro or electric?

Helifino, here is a link to arcHeli-cobra, a guy over here is putting a 500 fuse on a T-Rex, I realize your project is much larger, but you maybe interested in this.....

Cheers Ralph

Yes- I only came across it last night, I thought he was doing a great job, did you notice he has reserved pages in the thread to add to latter, even though he has finished building, and is actually flying her, interesting concept :)

I think I'll stick with electric. My Rex 450SE has worked out pretty well. It seems like electric would work out good for scale, being smoother and cleaner than nitro.

I got an airbrush last year. With a little practice you can get some nice results. Just take your time and don't rush it and you should end up with a beautiful heli. Keep us posted! :)
