I ordered parts from rchover for the first time last Sunday, shipped Monday, and received Thursday! Although one of the parts shipped was wrong  , one quick phone call was all that it took. The owner answered the phone, no waiting on hold, would ship correct item that day(Friday) and assured me that I should receive it by Monday,no hassles. I'm impressed!
They even throw in some candy with your order. :)

Perhaps this might be a good example to create a forum/section of good/bad deals that we have had with certain shops to give those unaware an idea of who's the best to go to and who to steer clear of.

Or, perhaps "RCheli" don't want to be involved in ragging shops so maybe we could just have it as a section to share great deals and purchases, like this thread describes.

Just an idea :)

Buy a Caliber not a Crappy Rappy. ;)

I order from heliproz, heliready, helihobby, and rcheliworks. They all ship quickly, usually less than 5 days with the cheap shipping.

HeliProz is my exclusive online dealer for anything but my Century parts. Heli-world is Cantury's online store. I've had good luck with them.

Not a Raptor fan eh? :D I'll have to do more research on the Caliber. It does sound like it's worth looking into.

It's definately worth looking into - you get alot for your money, and a damn good flying machine to boot. My buddy flys a Craptor and is about to come over to the dark side!

Just kidding though - they're both excellent machines. I lean towards the Caliber 5 because that's what I fly!

I was just busting. The Raptor is a great heli. I fly them alot, other members of my club always ask me to fly them for. I don't own one. They do fly beautiful provided they're set-up correctly, but I do like the Caliber better for the belt driven drive-train and tail rotor along with the eccpm set-up. They both are a fairly cheap heli pricewise. I own 2 Calibers the 30 and 50. Next for me is the Caliber90, now that's one expensive heli.

I was checking out the caliber 30. I was impressed with the drive train setup and also the fixed linkages. I want to download the manual from rcheliworks and look it over.
Thanks for the tip!

In the long run, I think you'd be better off with the Caliber5 with the os hyper. You won't outgrow the 50. Don't take me wrong, I love my C30, but after flying my newerC5........

.... It's all about the power. :D And its not that much more money. Just for the kits, the 50 is 10.00 dollars more than the 30 without engine and electronics. I paid $505.00 for my Caliber50, os hyper50 , and the ems linkage kit, that is a definite must buy. The electronics were pricy, I went with digitals all around along with a gy401+ 9253 rudder servo and a Throttle Jockey RevMax rpm limiter. Total cost for my Ready To Fly Caliber 50 was $1000.00 u.s. dollars. After 5 gallons of fuel and 2 glow plugs, I'm up to 1110.00.

Finally got around to downloading the caliber manual. Very impressive from what I have seen so far. RCheliworks has the 30 kit, no motor for $279.99 and the 50 for $299.99. Heliworld on the other hand has the 30 for $239.95 and the 50 for $259.95, same kit #'s. Big difference in price! I wonder if there's any difference as to what's included in the kit? Heliworlds a little vague on their description.

By the way, what's the ems linkage kit consist of? I also saw reference to a mms linkage kit also. Is this similar to the eccpm & mccpm setup?

Any likes/dislikes in building the caliber? Anything anyone would or has done different in the build?

Personally,I'm not crazy about the way the manual is laid out. I'ts a little confusing for me to follow, especially in 2 languages. No offense to anyone, but it would be nice to have just an english version(less distracting imo). :)

The linkage is just a few different linkages with bell cranks. It's a push-pull system.

The Calibers are mccpm and eccpm capable. I've been eccpm since day one. I guess they both have advantages and disadvantages. IMO, eccpm is much better. Much more torque per collective/cyclic inputs. You have three servos operating each given input instead of one when in a mccpm set-up you have one servo operating pitch, one for aileron, and one for elevator.

The ones that came with my kits are all english. :)

The Caliber went to gether well, both 30 and 50 are easily assembled and set-up is a breeze.
