Hey! Is anyone going to Owatonna MN for this event? The guys at the last fun fly I attended said that if I were to go to one fun fly this year, make it to this one. They said they had more fun at this one than they did at IRCHA. I actually ditched my plans for IRCHA to go to this one instead. It's on August 25-27th.

I made plans for ircha so I am going to check it out this year. If ircha is not what I expected maybe I can hit the 7th annual fly in at Owatonna MN. The ama museum is in Muncie also so I have some other things to visit if I am bored.

The fun fly I was at was in Milwaukee. The S.W.A.R.M. fun fly. They're a great group of guys. I wish I lived down there and could fly with those guys all the time. They were all real friendly and personable. I was going to post it on here when it was coming up, but forgot we had at least one person from WIsconsin on here. You'd have loved it. Some great 3D pilots down there. I got a lot of good video and pictures.

Well, I'm starting to pack for the trip today. I'm leaving early Friday morning. You guys don't know what you'll be missing.....Neither do I yet for that matter. :p I'll post some pics an maybe video when I get back!

You will have to tell us all about it. I did have a blast at Ircha. The only problem was the show was to short, I never was bored.

Plus Rc Heli gave me some cool stickers :cool: .

I wish I would have known about that fly-in in Millwaukee. I live in Waukesha, WI. I just bought my first bird (Blade CP) last week and I'm learning to fly...or at least trying. I'll have to look those boys up and check out their flying field.

I talked to the SWARM guys at ircha and they say that they try to have their fly-in always 2 weeks before ircha. So mark your calendar for next year to be in Milwaukee.

Well, here goes. I'm going to post a pic or two each reply so they show up and you don't have to click on them.
There'll be quite a few. First up is one of Mike Scoles' Synergy N9's. I talked with him briefly....he seemed pretty humble and down to earth.
He was doing a flight demo and sliced off about the top 4-5 inches off from a row of beans in a field adjoining the flying field AND PULLED OUT OF IT!
In the group photo his heli was next to mine and I noticed the bean juice all over it!

This was the flightline on Friday around noon-ish.
Lots of people had already started to show up earlier.
I was amazed at how many people were already there and I got there at around 9 am on Friday!
Around 130 pilots showed up total!

The host of the meet had quite an impressive hangar.
He did a flight demo of this scale Piper Cub that he hand-built from stratch.
That's my buddy Bob standing next to it. He went along for the ride.
He stands about 6'2" to give you an idea of how big that plane is.

It was convenient to have all of our stuff in one row.
