After finally crashing my Blade CP hard enough to need to wait for parts, I was forced (?!) to final tune my Helimax MX400. After figuring out the CCPM set-up and changing the pinion to 11Tooth(high Altitude, hot motor), I had a real solid heli and began to practice. I usually fly out in my back yard, since there is enough room out there.
After a number of great flights, practicing left and right side-in hovering, one day came when it was too windy for me and I prepared to sit it out until the next morning.
I am sure most of you have had this experience, waiting, hoping the wind will die down enough to go fly, and frustrated that it doesn't.
Minutes passed... or was it just seconds? "not tooo windy" I thought, took my heli and radio and went to the pad to try my small skill-set in the wind.
10 minutes later, a couple of tail wags, not too bad at all!
Now it looks as though even a good breeze will not stop my practice, so Onward/Upward (if only I could get up the nerve to Nose-In!)
Love this heli!
