Hi all,
I am new to the forum and new to R/C flying. I don't have a heli or plane right now. My sister said she would get me a heli or plain for my birthday. 1/7 :-) I bought the Realflight 3.5 to save money over the 4.0 since I am new. In case I didn't like it. (Yeah like that would happen.) I have planes down pretty well. As for heli's Realflight has hover training. I have worked on that some. And have tried flying some as well. Should I concentrate on hovering? Or work on flying? Or some of both? Any advice for me? My main problem right now is seeing the heli well enough to know where i am going and which way I need to correct when I am flying. Obviously I can see it fine when I am hovering.

Thanks,

Bill

Work on orientation while hovering. All 8 points. Then start flying after you've learned the hovering stage.

Hi Bill welcome to the forum

Well you are off to great start with G3.5 that's the best way to learn IMHO, maybe from the aircraft selection menu you will find a machine that you like and then purchase the same machine, there is a new T-Rex 450 "SE"V2 online to download, maybe you can try that and see if you like it, In the past I've recommended newbies start with a Blade CX2 they are relatively cheap $$, they are counter rotating blades, this will teach you orientation and are very easy to fly, once you get the fundamentals down after this one you can move on to a CCPM heli like the Rex/Mini Titan etc

Just keep up the practice on the SIM

Cheers Ralph

Thanks for the input. I work on the hovering and when I get fed up with crashing I go fly a plane.
Where is it to download the T-Rex 450?

Thanks,

Bill

Thanks for the link. I downloaded some of the planes and heli's but I can't pull them up under realflight. I downloaded them to programs-realfight3-planes-custom. It seemed like the right place to download them but I can't find them under realflight when i am looking at planes. What am I doing wrong? I searched the forums and didn't find this answer.

Thanks,

Bill

Save the .g3x aircraft on your desktop

Open RF

Click on Simulation then Import then G3X then the g3x file you want to import.

A few moments later it should be in your custom aircraft

all right brad, can you help me on my other post?

quick question, do you guys leave the heading hold "on" in the normal flight on the interlink controller? or do just use it "on" idle up?

What post are you referring too?

Are you talking about a specific helicopter using idle up or just while flying in general?

I use both normal modes for just flying around and switch to idle up when doing 3d stuff.

Some helis use all three positions on the switch

on the g.2 simulator, you can have the heading hold on in normal. do you just use it in idle up or all the time?

thanx

On any sim you should try to set it up as close as possible to your own heli so the same priciples apply to try to keep it as real as possible thats why it is better to use your own tx also there is no need to turn off a heading hold gyro its job is to assist you and The gyro helps reduce the pilot workload in all modes so the closer to real flying the better :) read this http://www.rchelimag.com/pages/howto.php?howto=14&page=1

try changing the view mode. you can do this by taping the letter z on the Keyboard.
hitting the letter h will bring up a list of all the shortcut keys.

here is another strange method once mentioned to some one.
