hi all

Thanks to everyone that helped with my tail rotor issues. The heli is working great now except for some perplexing issue with the engine.

I have a raptor 30 v2 with the TT 39 engine. My pitch settings are set with the recommended settings by thundertiger 0, 6, 12. The helicopter work great up to a bit over 1/2 throttle when it begins to bog down dramatically. Is it a problem with the engine? pitch settings, or is my radio? My throttle curve is set up to 20, 40, 50, 70, 100.
The helicopter lifts off and hovers great around 1/2 throttle so thats good. It's just the top end throttle is not working. I finally got upset and maxxed the throttle and all that did was immediately kill the engine, and I couldn't get it to restart today. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

I don't know why Thunder Tiger recommends 12 degrees of pitch. A 30 shouldn't have the power to pull that much pitch. Plus in a hard turn, with 12 degrees, you run the risk of stalling the blades with full up collective. A heli blade can stall at 14 degrees. You should have no more than 10 on the top. This is most likely the problem with your bogging issues provided the tuning and throttle curves are correct. If you need to check tuning, check out the "how to" section on the RC Heli home-page.

The 30 doesn't have loads of power so I would set the top end at about +9° of pitch. A pitch of +12° is too much for any heli.

What headspeed are you running? It sounds like it could be the high end is really rich. If you loaded up hard and it won't start, it may have hydro locked.

If is bogging just above hover, check you needle setting, and try replacing your plug.
