I just wanted to pass on that I finished the build on my Caliber 90 today. I actually wrote a build thread over on RR, so you can read all about it at: Caliber 90 Build (http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t374005p1/)

I posted some pics here for ya'll to enjoy. It's a beautiful kit. I've never put anything together quite like it.

Cheers,
Erich

Hi Erich
Beautiful helicopter, I've been watching your build on RR a very meticulous build and quick :)
One question how did you secure the fan, is it still the threaded type and if so what type of loctite did you use? Thank you..
Cheers Ralph

Ralph, I'm not sure what you mean by threaded, but this one used a steel support bushing with a shoulder bolt up into the mount, secured with a 4m Locknut. See pics below:

Wayne suggested to red locktite the bushing into the bearings.

I read your thread over at RR. Very impressive, I now am very envious of you, Erich.

I've read numerous times that the Caliber90 is the best 90 going on the market. I'm sure others will argue, but I guess nobody knows until they fly a Caliber series heli, although the 90 is far beyond what the 50's and 30's are.

Enjoy your new 90, Erich.

I do believe ralph is referring to the fan/clutch hub that mounts on the OS hyper for the Caliber5.

Thanks Erich, Oh OK thats a totally different design than my Cal50 and OS50 Hyper.
When I started mine yesterday the clutch shoe hub spun up and locked the fan against the frame, the guys here tell me to use red lotite, I did 242, yesterday I used 268 so that should work OK, if I cant get it apart when I need to I'll just buy another motor LOL :)

Ralph, the clutch adapter is very similar on the 90 to what your 50 uses. Yes, you have to use GOBS of RED LocTite. That's from Wayne Mann. If you have a flooded or hydrolocked engine, your starter can spin the adapter right off the engine crank.

To remove it later, you have to get a torch and heat the bajeesus out of the adapter to melt the LocTite and get the thing off.
