banning?

I just moved to Miami Beach, FL and some of the locals inform me that RC craft of any type are banned in Miami-Dade area.

In Silicon Valley, the electrics are allowed in most parks and the people respect the rights of the family's and children first.

I even had a very hard landing because I landed my 600 too fast to get between it and a four year old running at full speed (100 yards away) to me. I broke a few parts, but I knew the child would be safe.

The dad said thanks and sorry for the damage... and we had a long chat about the hobby.

Back to Miami Beach...

They said that is comes from a while ago, some people were using high speed boats around swimmers and there was a problem.

So the county banned all RC craft in non-approved fields.

I have been trying to dig up the source of the law / code, and not a lot of luck.

I can not believe a whole county would ban the use of RC craft based on the few who had a unfortunate experience.

This makes about as much since as banning all police cars because a few cops has high speed chases and crash into innocent people.

Is this the experience others have across the country / world?

(Please if you fly in parks, keep the birds away from children, people and pets. If you see them coming, park and wait until they leave. Only fly parks with huge open areas where you have 100/200 or more yards to see them coming or just fly in flight parks.)

it seems to be the way you have to think for other people as well as yourself, to many thick people that want to blame others for being a dumb arse themself, I heard a saying on tv one time and totally agree with it. politacl correctness is the dumbing down of the human race. Kids not even allowed to climb trees anymore.
One of my old work mates got in trouble for abuse and nearly lost his helicopter licence because of these people. He had to land a heli on a wharf and before the landed he said everyone is to get out on the left side as on the right there was a rased section that would give you a good hair cut if you were to get out that side. once heli had landed he said once again. as he was helping some of them off. one of the ladies friends went white as a ghost and he looked to see one of them getting out on the wrong side into the range of the blades just as she start to climb up the steps he pulled her by the first thing he could get hold of her by, it just happened to be her hair. He said to her as he was pulling her you dumb bitch, anyway her boss saw this happen and started to give him a hard time for being rough and rude to the lady. even after heli had shut down he showed her boss that the blades at the high point came to his waist. He was luckly in the end got cleared of the assualt but even for saving some silly persons life how come he has to get dragged through the mud because someone cant listen to simple instructions.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if that were true. That's modern culture for you... make sure everyone is equally miserable.

how many people got shot with guns in that county. did they ban guns ?
How many people got hit by a surfboard ? Did they ban that ?
How many People were killed with a kitchen knife ? did they ban them ?
How many people were killed in a car accident because some ritch person had an SUV and wiped out some pore person and there fam ? Did they ban SUV's or driving ?

How many got hurt by the boats ?

It is true there are some DA individuals. and we can not do a thing to educate them.
it is a dumbing of a nation. but mostly the 1st worlds.
we will have a new generation who are not disciplined because parents are not allowed to smack them (Given warning and that the smack is not a belting <That's a touchy one, but there are times when a smack can do good without harm or ill effect>) and this generation will probably learn to sue the older generation for making them un educated in the ways of common sense and all things mechanical an dangerous.

My boy will be brought up to know if he falls. and it truly was his own silly mistake. that he is the only one to blame and he must be careful.

(He is only 22mths old now and already knows how to close a sliding glass door without slamming it or his fingers, many other things. but there are things you need to learn the hard way.)



Why didn't that county just whack a fine on the individuals involved ?
Hell. it was probably not ever really an issue. probably just some richie complaining and making up BS stories to get their way.

There is a park not far from us where some people use RC cars and they are getting along.
it absolutely amazes me to see parents park near it all . load their kids on a bike and lead them through the general area. (The area is only 100m x 20m, but the whole of the park and area for kids to ride is more than 2km x 1km) bloody stupid. Common sense is not as common as it should be.

yeah i totally agree with you. Our country bought in a law a couple months ago making it illegal to smack your child because of a small part of the population that hit them so hard they almost die, they go to jail anyway yet they bring in this new law to try reduce it happening. fact is the ones that beating their children going to still be doing it if there is a law or not. so in the meantime everybody else has kids that the only way they can be told off are sent to their rooms where they probably have a tv computer cellphone and many other things to keep them happy. no real lesson learned. this is what happens when the greens have a say in government :( I starting to really wounder who are the biggest winners in the world and it almost starting to look like the third world :o All us 1st world countries can't do anything without the media controlling the country. Ok so do you ever think a 1st world country would be able to go back to the days of carpet bombing a country, not a chance. Just think of the uproar if a couple of civilians died.
the young ones are getting much worse now and i can even see it and i only 24. i no 6 years ago when we were in the same age we would do silly things that would piss someone off like knock all the road cones over on a 1 km length of road, or go and start up bulldozers on the side of the road. but now some throwing rocks off motorway over bridges and many other stupid things that are killing. The police cant touch them without a law case against them.

Ok i better breath otherwise i will loose focus as to why i am on a rc heli site venting my anger at the growing percent of thick, dumb, incapable, useless finger pointers.
ps now is not the time for me to be flying a heli :D
