i got a brand new trex (XL) and started doing 3-D with it im running a 11tooth on the motor. and i over heated my first battery and killed it. so when i use my other battery i dont do as much 3-D. just a couple loops and its getting Hot as well. enyone know what i should do.. i was thinking of putting the motor in it that comes with the T_Rex (SE). i think the XL motor is weaker. HELP. thanks :D

Along with the motor, pinion, ESC, discharge rate of the battery and capacity....lots of variables. Need more info. If you're doing 3D you should have at least a 16C battery on there. I had a 12C and fried it long ago.

If you have one of the older align motors (420L) it is probably a little overloaded for 3D. You will be much happier if you go with the align motor for the SE (430L) or one of the other well proven motors for the T-REX like the Aon, Astro flight, Neu, Mega, Multiplex, etc.
