Just got back from the hobby store in Orlando with a Raptor V2 version 2 30. I have done alot of research and this is my first nitro heli. Been playing with a mx400 pro previosly. My radio is an airtronics rd6000.
My question to all of you is how long before I outgrow this tx. I am eventually going to upgrade my raptor to a 50. I have some assembling to do and an engine to break in so will be checking back with all of you soon...
thx all of you and god is this hobby addicting.

Congrats on the New Raptor! If you've done any reading on here at all, you'll know that I'm a big fan of this tried and true design!
As far as the radio, you won't outgrow it until you start getting into heli's that require more channels like governors, retracts (if you get into scale heli's) and such. Otherwise the 6000 will last you a long time. My needs were growing with larger heli's and aspirations of aerial photography, so I outgrew my JR 6102 quickly, but if all you want is to stick to the 6 channel heli's, you'll be just fine. If you get into real aggressive 3-D, you'll probably want a governor, but they're not essential either if you have your throttle set up right.

Good luck. Let us know if you have any build questions!

Congrats! The raptor's are an awesome first heli. However, if you can still return the 30, I would suggest purchasing the 50 V2. Parts are the same price, and it's the perfect size. Plus, if you ever wanted to upgrade to an aggresive 3d bird (like the JR airskipper 50), you could transfer everything over to it and spend alot less out of pocket.

In regards to the radio, it will work great for what you have. However, as someone else already mentioned... if you plan on using a governer and doing 3d, you will need to upgrade. At that point I would suggest the JR 9303 which IMHO is by far the best radio on the market for all-around.

Hope this helps.
