Hey Y'all,
I wanted to start a new thread that may help those of us that are considering scale builds.
I am an intermediate flyer and I am looking for my next Heli. I intend to start with a .50 size pod and boom kit that is upgradable to a scale fuselage. I currently fly a HoneyBee FP, MX400 Pro, and a nitro Nexus 30. I do not want to build a scale heli around the Nexus' older technology, so I am looking for suggestions.
Does anyone have a suggestion regarding .30 to .50 size helicopter kits that could eventually be adapted to scale?
Thanks for your help!

Century makes some nice scale fuselages modeled around their own mechanics or they can be put on other mechanics as well. They also have a chart that shows which ones are compatible with theit fuelages. www.centuryheli.com

Kyosho, Raptor and JR heli's are all compatible with the majority of scale bodies ont he market. Almost all require a degree of modification.
What fuselage did you have in mind? We may be able to suggest suitable helis to fit.

My favorite scale would be thw Hughes 500D. I also like the Hughes 369HS and could probably scratch build it from a 500D kit.
I also like the Bell Long Ranger 206L-4. Once again I can see a bit of scratch building.
Any suggestions regarding .30 vs. .50 size ships?
Brand?
Thanks for your responces!

I have the long ranger manual in front of me for the funkey .50 body, it explans with photos what needs to be done for each model, The kit really well built and it looks close shapewise to the real one as you sometimes find the scale bodies look to fat or not right anyway. the manual covers fitting to a Centry Scale Se, Hirobo Sceadu, and last the raptor.Just one thing i can see being a issue is if you going to use the new raptor titan, as tail boom might be to long for it. Apart from that it looks like a great kit to put together one of theses days, if you did a search on here you probably find mine as it came

Hi Pal
The tail boom on the 50 titan is only 25MM longer so if its a problem use a standard boom and belt
