As a beginner with limited funds could someone please advise me on how much easier a micro collective pitch is to fly than a micro fixed pitch. I have a GWS Dragonfly that I've crashed so many times (without hovering) I have had to start fabricating my own parts. Any helpfull hints would be most welcome.

The collective pitch system is easier to fly, as the collective is lowered, you can maintain head speed unike the fixed pitch. In fixed pitch the up and down movment is controlled via the head speed, as you want to land the headspeed drops causing the heli to become unstable.

Collective heads are harder to set up but makes flying much simpler.

Thanks for the helpfull info. When I'm able to I'll try the collective pitch before going back to my former hobby of boomerang making and throwing.

This is probably the best micro-electric to get into with a collective pitch head. I say this one, and not the T-Rex, because the Rex is not a true Micro. It's a ready to fly setup that will show you the advantages of collective pitch without a massive investment.
