Where should I go from a BCX? Is the BCP my best bet? Or can I go to a T-Rex 450?

The Blade Cp would seem like the next logical step. If you still crash often (every or every other flight) stick with the Blade. They are quite durable and inexpensive to repair. I turned mine into a dirt missile from 30 feet up and only broke the skids and one main rotor blade.
The Blade is also arguably easier to set-up and maintain than the Trex for a beginner. But the equipment that comes with the Blade (Tx, 4 in 1, battery, etc) is only usable with the Blade and cannot be transplanted to another heli in the future.

The Trex in any configuration 400x, 450se, etc will outfly and outperform the Blade in every way. The costs to build this machine are considerably higher. But some of the equipment can be re-used in other helis (radio, reciever, gyro). Repair costs aren't too high for the Trex due to it's popularity. Mechanically speaking it is a more advanced design that could cause some problems until you are familiar with it, and how it all goes together.

So really, It's up to you.

Trex - more money, transferable parts, advanced design, all out performance

Blade - less money, no transferable parts, decent performance

The worst thing about the Blade in my opinion is the motor driven tail rotor. I went through 4 tail motors in 2 months. The worst thing about the Trex , nothing comes to mind. If it was my money, Trex 450 se.

Thank you. I don't crash often at all. However, I tried flying the heli outside the other day. Bad idea. Got it stuck in a tree and everything fried because I couldn't get it down in time. If you want to see a picture with the 4-in-one with a hole in it let me know. :p

I'll stick to indoor stuff with it.

Blade CP's can be twitchy at the best of times. I learned on one and then built a Kyosho Caliber 5. No comparison. After tuning the Cali and flying it hard, I and gave the Blade away to a friend, I'll never fly it again. When I build another electric it will definately be a Trex 450 se. It is worth the money to have a heli that responds and flies like it should. I still blame the motor driven tail on the Blade. You can build one with a belt driven tail, but by the time you buy everything else you need - you could own a Trex.

If you want to see a Blade 4 in 1 that I bent into a taco shell shape - let me know

Here's another .02 cents from me (almost up to a dime now). I have a Blade CP that was my first helicopter and I can pretty much fly the heck out of it minus inverted stuff. The little bird is find but my biggest gripe is the motors. Brushes just can't handle a whole lot of aggressive flying. I've nearly plowed into the ground trying to recover from a dive. With fresh batteries and a fairly new motor you can do it with no problems. Its when the motor starts to wear out and you find out the hard way  Then you have to deal with the tail motor (Im on my third one now). If that joker goes out your gonna look like a washing machine on spin cycle. Dont get me wrong Im not knocking the CP. I would have suggested you have STARTED on a CP instead of a CX. I have learn ALOT from it but if your looking to get another heli then get one that will allow you to grow alittle bit more. TREX CDE would be great although there's alot more to it and it's designed to go 3D from the get go. The MX 400 Pro is suppose to be great and maybe alittle more beginner friendly.

Price wise you could look into nitro. I just bought a used Raptor 30 V2 for $180 from a fellow club members. If you go that route SEEK HELP dont try to go it alone with the bigger birds. You could damage property or worst get yourself killed. If you have people around you to assist you then your golden if not then it can be an uphill battle for you.

Whatever you do I wish you the best of luck.

Just finished up a Trex 450XL. Flies really well - no complaints here. I figure I can upgrade to the shiny stuff after I try something stupid and plant it :D
