i just got my GY401 gyro and need help with radio set up. I have the JR9303 radio. i saw that they used the same radio and gyro on the Trex that they tested on the last issue i read of the RCHELI magazine(issue #4) but they don't go in detail on the settings of the radio. please help anybody who knows the radio. i am new to the hobby.

If you do not have someone who can set that up for you goto w.ratortechnique.com in the left hand colum goto electronics setup and goto gyro setup in the menu choose GY401/9303 even though its a site for raptors it will tell you how to setup that radio and gyro combo. I have this combo on my raptor and it works very well some guys by pass the 9303 gyro channel and setup to the gear channel personal choice here.

Using the 9303 with a 401 is easy. Plug the red plug (remote gain) from your gyro into the gear channel (Ch 5). Enable this channel in the radio, if it isnt already. Now, you just use the Travel Adjust for the Gear channel to set the gain. The positive side of the travel will be for heading hold and the negative side for normal mode. You can switch between the two (not that you really need to) with the gear switch on the radio. I usually begin with the travel adjust settings at +/- 70 and work from there. Hope this helps, Jim

I always use heading hold, have never used normal mode for anything other than linkage adjustment. Use heading hold.
