Hey all. This afternoon tragedy struck my shiny new Predator. I had just received a set of carbon main & tail blades for it and I had been test hovering it in the yard to adjust tracking and such. My wife got home with the kids and I put the heli on my tailgate of the truck (parked in the garage). After a bit, I came downstairs to check the forums and the wife commenced vaccuming the car. Our 2 year old likes to play with the garage door opener on the visor of the car and......You guessed it  , down came the garage door on the main rotor blade of the gasser. It was all I had in me NOT to SCREAM when the wife came downstairs to tell me what had happened.
Well, it wasn't as bad as it looked, the feathering shaft was bent, a servo's gears were stripped and a couple of bearings were tweaked in the grips. All told with shipping, $41. This cooled me down a little bit, but the fact remains that I now have to wait on parts. The order was placed about a half-hour after it happened. I just hope I didn't overlook anything.

That sucks .i thought you were going to say your wife decided to drive to the store with it on the tail and it ended up in the road. Hope your back up and flying quickly.

And I thought things like that only happened to me.
Down time sucks don`t it. I guess it`s part of the hobby.

Enjoy..................

Oh, downtime really sucks. Luckily I've got 2 other birds to play with. A buddy of mine thinks it was the other 2 heli's (T-Rex & Raptor 50) plotting against their new big brother. They were jealous of the Predator getting all the attention so they tried to rub it out in some conspiracy with my 2 year old. I've got investigators looking into it. :p We found some shredded ducuments that look like some sort of a contract signed by all three.

Either way, I did a heli-free weekend this Saturday & Sunday despite the flying conditions being PERFECT ALL WEEKEND! Spent some time and went out 4 wheeling with the family and to a graduation party so the wife and kids were pleased to see me come out of the heli workshop for a while. It took me a bit to remember their names, but now I remember. ;)

That's where I screw up every time. I rush to get the parts as soon as possible and end up placing 1-2 more orders for things I missed.

That's the worst feeling when you have non-crash damage. You don't even have the pleasure of watching it hit the ground.

I continued to scrutinize over the heli on Friday & Saturday night and haven't found anything yet. I can't believe it didn't bend the main shaft. I checked and re-checked it twice. I'm pretty confident I've got everything.

Did you check links, flybar, blades, blade holders, tailboom straight..................
Give it a second run just in case, make sure everything moves freely no binding.

Enjoy.............................

Got her back in the air tonight. Nothing was thrown off! Tracking, pitch curves, etc. was just fine. Life is good again! My other two helis look a little miffed to be sharing the same room again :(
