I have a Lightening Power 2200mah 3S1P 11.1V lipo battery and a Align charger/balancer.

While I was charging the battery(1st time, brand new battery and charger) two of the three lights turned green within 2-2 1/2 hours normal right? Going on 4-5 hours the last remaining light is still flashing red-green. Not normal or is it?

Possible bad battery? Just my luck if it is. I unplugged it fearing damaging the battery or worse. Should I give it more time?

It sounds like you may have a bad cell in that pack. It is normal for the cells to peak at different intervals on that charger, but it should not be that much of a difference. see if you can figure out the wiring, if you can measure the voltage of each cell, you should be able to see a lower voltage in the cell that is not peaking. good luck

Well, a weird thing happened. The following day, I plugged the battery in to give it one more shot before writing it off.
Within 30 mins. I got the green light on all three cells. I have not had a chance to try it yet(I'm still in the setup phase).
I also noticed that the charger was not as warm (It got pretty hot) to the touch as the day before. Maybe running the charger for 4-5 hours will do that I don't know.
