i think you can get carbon blades for it but remember if the blades dont break something else might.

If the blades are made stronger other things will break like the blade mounts or bend the main shafts. A catch 22 dude. Just dont hit anything... LOL I know easier said than done! :D

Ya that is easier said then done lol..this thing is so fun to fly, my patio is only 20ft by 10ft

I've got a similar problem. I can fly the CX day in and day out, the only thing that limits me from letting it all hang out is that i watched my friend doing some forward flight, pretty high speed (for a CX at least) and had a blade strike from about 50 feet up, i dont want to have that happen to me. Is there any way to prevent this problem for me? I've got a CP that i'm still learning and forward flight is OUT OF THE QUESTION for me on that for weeks i'm sure so when it comes to that i've only got the CX.. any advice is much appreciated.

RacingTowardsRed,

I am confused dude....

What did it strike at 50 ft up? Bird? Power pole?

It is not possable for the blades to hit each other or the tail boom so what let go in the air? Maybe damage from a previous crash?

I can rip my son's CX at warp speed foward and back really laying the hurt to the power and cyclic during climbouts ect.. He has learned to fly on this thing and we been pounding it for since X-Mas. Nothing wrong not even a set of blades yet. Same ones that came on it. I bought new ones still in the package. He learned to fly it in the house in our front room which has an open area of 7ftX7ft. He can fly it up and land it on his hand then take back off and buzz around the room more. He is 10. I am trying to sort out if enough foward flight speed i could get a loop out of it. We moved the control rods to the last hole out on the control horns for max cyclic movement and we gass her on. I would say you need to have someone trim that little heli out for you or you need to slow down and get it trimmed out so it will hover perfect in one spot. That will help alot. Then slow down and get used to the darn controls fly it out slow turn around and fly straight back at you nose in then turn it around and fly it back out. Do this till you can smooth without flaws. Then begin to take it up up and away more.

My 2 bits have fun and slow up a bit get some more practice with slow steady hover out and nose in.

i'm almost positive that the CX's blades hit eachother, it twitched really fast and we saw a piece of the blade fly off and it fell like a rock.. he was kinda banging the sticks around a bit so i figured the top and bottom blades just made contact. dosent someone sell carbon fibre blades for this thing?

I have not seen any carbon blades yet. Only thing I have seen is a guy covered his plastic blades with some carbon look vinyl sticker. It looked really cool. Maybe someone else can chime if they know of someone with some carbon ones or if there is any in the works.

One more thing if you fly in cold weather they will be more prone to breaking than if they are in the sun on a warm day. The warm day the plastic is softer and less likely to break. It gets brittle when cold.

Its not the blades striking each other its the flybar (balacne bar) ive noticed at extreme high speed nose left or right turns the flybar can strike the bottom blades..its a known mod to shorten it but ive just learned to live with it.

Got ya. I shortned ours so that is possably why I have had no contact.

that would also result in slightly lower stability but increased performance correct? Could you walk me thru the steps on how to do this modification? thanks in advance
