Hey all, Didn't have a good day with the T-Rex today. Tried a stationary flip without my idle-up on. Big mistake with a bird this small. Not with those little blades on the T-Rex. Only damage is the main shaft is bent, the spindle broke and the 401 has a couple of chips. The grass at our field most likely saved most of the parts. It landed almost nose first. Luckily I've got spare parts laying around.

In a past life, my cycling jersey had the phrase "faster you fool" on my arm... ahh the memories :)

My first recommendation when you rebuild, DO NOT put the gyro on top of the boom. Most people that have done it learned the hard way, including myself. This is one of the most expensive components on the model and it really hurts when the case gets ripped apart.

I changed it out with a JR G500T. The metal case on it should fare better. I put the new 401 on my Raptor and like it a bit more. The G500T holds better on the T-Rex too so it was a win-win situation.
With the limited locations on the CDE T-Rex, that's the only place I could put it to keep components seperated. I see the SE has a nice plate above the battery for the receiver. If it had that, it would be inside the frames.

I made a carbon fiber plate that lays inside on the bottom of the frame. It sticks out of the back just enough to hold the gyro. It a perfect fit and best place to put it.
