I am new on this forum which I discovered 2 days ago - and that is really a great forum.

I did a search but couldn't find anything so here is my question: would anybody know where you can order/buy floats for a Raptor 50V2 ?

Thank a lot.

Why would you want to risk landing that beautiful machine on the water? ;) I tried once to make a home-made set, it wasn't too successful when I tried it out in the bathtub, so I abandoned the idea. I guess it would be a little bit of peace of mind if a guy had to fly over the water.

I once flew a raptor 30 with floats, over the water, doing aerobatics in 20+ MPH winds. it was during an airplane float fly, and although nobody else risked flying fixed or rotary wings, I had a blast! flying helis on the water is definately not for the faint of heart though, as you have virtually no tail control on the water untill the blades are up to speed. for this reason I took off and landed off the beach and only did touch and goes on the water. if you try it... remember that the floats are the only thing that make a heli boyant! when you crash a plane on the water, they still float!!

I bought the heli max floats for my sceadu .30. I found them to be a great trainning gear.
Because of the increased weight at the bottom (lower cg), it helped in maintaining the helicopter straight. It also cushioned the first few hard landindgs.. :D After the first few tanks I had to replace the stock aluminum mounts because they bent too easy.
I bought in Home depot aluminum stock about 1 inch wide, 1/8" thick and I extended the lenght of the leggs by about 3 inches of the original desing. This gave me more area and made it harder for the helicopter to tip over it's side. I would recomend making a little stinger for the tail fin to prevent the tail rotor from hitting the ground..

Anyway, they look too cool......

....and no...i haven't had the heart to try them on water....just because they float, it doesn't mean you have to stick them on the watter... ;)

oh yeah!! I wish I could find the video my friend took at that float fly... I was ripping it up, over the water, doing low inverted over the water and more.....and the wind was blowing so hard my exhaust trail was sideways.
