im no expert im a newbie but i would think you need a micro pitch gauge to slide on the main rotor. As for the other question im not sure

Yes, you need to get a pitch gauge to accurately check the pitch. I beleive E-Flight actually came out with a micro pitch gauge that will work well.
And yes, if you change the tail motor, which you will often, you have to solder it on.

Well, it's a very cheap brushed motor. Brushed motors have a short life on helis.

lol..well it broke my 3rd time flying the cp. Maybe bc i crashed so much? :D Also i was looking at the cp repair site and found a guid on how to adjust the pitch by using paper and markers..it worked perfectly for me. I would say the pitch guage would save some time though.

It should be fine. The Super LG is not very heavy. You can leave off the boom supports to save weight and they are just for looks. If your running lipos, you will barely notice a difference.
